The 2020 Vinha Formal is a Bical aged for six months in an equal mixture of stainless steel and third-use chestnut barrels. It comes in at 12.7% alcohol. Just gorgeous, this adds plenty of grip on the finish to go with reasonable concentration and a somewhat earthy demeanor. There's no vanilla, thanks to the old chestnut barrels. This seems understated, but it is more persistent than you might think. It is likely to develop well and hold well, but it drinks well now today too
